The view from St Aidan's
Van Mildert College

Accommodation has been provisionally booked at St. Aidan's and at Van Mildert Colleges, Mill Hill Lane, Durham, just off the A177. The colleges are set in landscaped gardens with ample parking well off the road. The Oriental Museum and the Botanical Gardens are close by. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk into the centre of Durham.

Bed and breakfast accommodation is available at £65 per double en-suite room per night (£37 for a single en suite room) and standard accommodation at £47.50 for a double room (£26.50 single). In order to book, please contact St. Aidan's College on 0191 334 5779 or Van Mildert College on 0191 374 3900.

As Durham is an extremely popular tourist venue, the colleges will not be able to hold rooms unless individual bookings are confirmed before June 17th with a non-refundable deposit of £15 per person per night for en-suite and £10 for standard accommodation. All twin en suite rooms are now fully booked at St. Aidan's, so for this you should now contact Van Mildert College on 0191 374 3900, at Windmill Hill, Durham DH1 3LH. Their 30 en suite rooms will not be held for rally participants beyond June 17th.

There are so many things to do and see in the North East that you may wish to extend your stay.

On Saturday August 20th there are three main options. Payment will be made at the venues. Rally ID cards (to qualify for group entry rates) will be included in the Rally packs.

The pictures below are of (1) Egglestone Hall Gardens (where lunches are available at the Coach House Bistro) (2) Timothy Hackworth Museum (3) the Bowes silver swan, a musical automaton which performs at 12 noon and at 3pm.
